Short-term accommodation is an intervention according to LSS for children and young people who live at home and have intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders. The stay at the short-term home is a temporary environment outside the home aimed at strengthening the child's or young person's independence. At the same time, the intervention provides parents and relatives with the opportunity for relief, recovery, and personal time.

At Humlan, we work based on the needs of the target group with clear structure, adapted communication, and low-arousal responses. Our children and young people often need support to participate in various activities as many cannot occupy themselves independently due to their disabilities. Activities take place both individually and in groups and can include walks, excursions, crafts, or watching movies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The workgroup actively works to have a clear expression, read situations, and adapt communication according to the individual we meet. To thrive with us, you need to have good collaboration skills, be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and have a genuine interest in the target group. You want to develop and learn new things together with your colleagues.

Your work will include, among other things:

• Supporting children and young people in daily activities
• Working with personal care
• Practical tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking
• Longer walks, so you need to have good physical ability

As a support educator, you, together with the team coordinator, are responsible for:

• Planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational work
• Implementing and anchoring evidence-based approaches in the workgroup
• Coordinating and informing about social documentation
• Supporting colleagues in why and how documentation should be carried out
• Following up that implementation plans are updated and of good quality
• You will receive support in your assignment from the municipality's support educator team.

The position involves scheduled work during the day, evening, and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• Post-secondary YH education to support educator of 200 YH points, or 60 university credits in a relevant field
• Confident in yourself with a clear expression
• Patient, flexible, and responsible
• Attentive in meeting users and collaborating with colleagues
• Good computer skills and ability to express yourself clearly in writing
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience working with people with disabilities
• Practical experience of IBIC, clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal responses, and AAC
• Knowledge or experience of welfare technology
• B driver's license for manual transmission
